Pips NYT is a daily logic puzzle game launched by The New York Times on August 18, 2025. Unlike word-focused games like Wordle and Connections, Pips challenges players with domino-based numerical logic puzzles, offering a fresh twist on daily brain teasers.
How to Play?
In Pips, players place five dominoes on a grid according to specific color-coded rules. The main types of conditions include:
Equality: Numbers in a region must be the same.
Inequality: Numbers must differ from each other.
Greater than / Less than: Numbers must satisfy a comparison to a given value.
Sum totals: Numbers in a designated area must add up to a specific total.
Players can select three difficulty levels—Easy, Medium, and Hard—and use a drag-and-drop interface to place and rotate dominoes. Completion times are tracked, and results can be shared, often using color-coded indicators for performance.
